Accessories: Binoviewer: Merging ImagesUnder Construction! Please check back. Occasionally, the image seen in each eyepiece may not merge and appear as a single object when viewed with both eyes. This typically occurs when using short focal length eyepieces, which have a small exit pupil. Longer focal length eyepieces with their larger exit pupils typically allow merging with no difficulty. Some users have reported success in merging images by first looking at the bottom of the field stop in the eyepieces and then slowly looking up until the object is viewed straight on. If the image seen by each eye do not merge, first try to rotate one of the eyepieces in the eyepiece holder. Occasionally, an eyepiece does not have its optical axis exactly aligned with the centerline of the eyepiece barrel. Rotating the eyepiece may help to merge the images in this case. If this technique does not merge the images, use the following procedure for the model of binoviewer being used: Model A and B Binoviewers: These two models have a single nylon setscrew securing each eyepiece in the eyepiece holder. Tightening or loosening one or the other of the setscrews will cause the image in that eyepiece to shift. The eyepiece holder can also be rotated to move the image in that eyepiece. If an eyepiece holder is rotated, ensure that the other eyepiece holder is rotated an equal amount to maintain focus. Model C Binoviewer: |
