04-11-08 The Interim Planetary eyepieces are in and are being shipped to dealers and those who have ordered the eyepieces. The 2.5mm, 4mm, 5mm, 7mm, and 9mm Planetary eyepieces are in stock now and shipping.

04-11-08 The The Paragon 30mm Eyepieces are in stock! Those who have purchased the Paragon 40 with serial numbers from 2 to 100, if you wish to get the Paragon 30 with the same serial number, please contact Burgess Optical or your favorite Dealer.

02-15-08 Burgess Optical announced previously that the TMB Designed Planetary eyepieces are being redesigned with improvements to the housing. The changes include treatment of the inside the eyepiece housing to avoid any internal reflections, improved coatings on the optical elements, and different anodizing on the outside of the eyepieces. One readily apparent change will be the replacement of the chrome barrel with a black anodized barrel with a wedge-type undercut, such as used on the Paragon eyepiece.

Burgess Optical is selling an interim version of the Planetary eyepieces. The interim version eyepieces will include all the improvements, but they will still have the original chrome barrel. Anyone wishing to fill out their set of Planetary eyepieces with matching eyepieces will be able to purchase the interim (silver bottom) version as they become available over the next few months. The silver bottom Planetary eyepieces are clearance priced at $59. After all the interim version eyepieces are sold, only the new version with the black anodized barrel will be available.

12-31-07 Warning! Because of the popularity of certain Burgess Optical and TMB Optical eyepieces, several companies have been trying to sell copies. Burgess Optical warns everyone that if a Burgess Optical or a TMB Optical product is being sold as new from someone other than Burgess Optical or an Authorized Dealer, most likely that product is not authentic and may not perform as well as an authentic Burgess Optical/TMB Optical product. In particular, there is one company selling knockoffs of the TMB Designed Planetary eyepieces, and there have been reports of those eyepieces being of substandard quality. Authentic Burgess Optical and TMB Optical products are prominantly labeled as such and look like the pictures on this site.
